Price includes:

A.  Your own real estate:  your own table where you can leave your art supplies out and ready for daily use.

B.  3  thirty-minute private sessions with me.  (One and a half hours per month of private lessons, one on one)

C.  Open studio painting with group.  (9 hours/week of open studio)with feedback on each persons paintings daily, as requested.  Some people will be there only one day per week, but you are welcome all three days.

D.  Demos by Donna Beverly of painting with acrylic and watercolor techniques.

E.  A refrigerator and microwave for storing & preparing snacks.

F.  General instruction available on drawing, perspective, landscape, still life & portraiture, as requested.

G.  Easy & close parking on street, one handicap parking space and more parking in our back alley.

HOW TO PAINT TREES & THE FALL LANDSCAPE AT IRONRIDGE

Limited to 10 adult participants – Basic drawing is the only pre-requisite.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

How does one begin a landscape, especially how does one draw a tree or a group of trees? There is so much detail and texture on each tree that it seems impossible to capture its essence.  The class begins by learning how to draw several different types of trees – evergreens, maples, birch trees, palm trees, etc.  After getting comfortable with drawing trees, artists will be guided through the process of selecting a composition from the landscape that adds dynamics and movement to your paintings.  Because our summer days are long and the late afternoon light is so magical here in the Northwest, the time of day is essential for conveying the shadows as they fall across the land.  The setting, a farm resting on the ridge of a local foothill in Oregon’s Coastal Range – allows the painter many opportunities to convey great distances or intimate garden spaces.

All painting mediums accepted:  watercolor, acrylic, oils, pastels, colored pencil, etc.  Note:  the first session and possibly the last session are held at the Benton County Museum in Philomath at 1101 Main Street.
